Svartir sandar, which translates black sands, was released in 2016. The album is about my roots, an ode to the place where I grew up, one of Iceland´s most isolated areas, surrounded by black sands and glacier rivers, barren empty space where living conditions are hostile with green oases and moss-covered lava in between.
I was fortunate to meet up with and collaborate with two talented artists on the album, the Belfast based singer and multi instrumentalist Marty Byrne (Here We Al Are) and singer and super talented artist Edward Butler (Memories). Svartir sandar is my second full album release after my debut LP Journey which was released in 2013.
